International students

Admission requirements

In order to be considered elegible to register for the Academic Exchange Program you must:

  • Be between 15-18 years of age at the time of application.
  • Have a GPA of 80 in the last two years of studies.
  • Attend a virtual interview with the International Student Advisor at the Office of International Programs.
  • Create and complete your online application at the International Programs Site: studyabroad.udem.edu.mx
  • Turn in all requested documents.

Within the online application, you must attach the following documents:

  • Copy of valid TOEFL Score, equal to or greater than 500 points. (This applies to students who wish to enroll in the Multicultural Academic Program).
  • Copy of passport (legible).
  • Certified copy of your high school and middle school grades to date.
  • Two letters of academic recommendation from two teachers, certified by the International Programs office or your high school principal.
  • A letter / certificate of good conduct from your school.
  • Signed terms and conditions of entry as an exchange student at Prepa UDEM.
  • Signed exchange agreements and Prepa UDEM’s regulations.
  • For candidates from non-Spanish speaking countries: proof of Spanish language proficiency. (Language certificate, course completion diploma, letter of recommendation from a Spanish teacher, etc.)
  • For candidates from non-English speaking countries: proof of English language proficiency. (Language certificate, course completion diploma, letter of recommendation from an English teacher, etc.)
  • Proof of international medical insurance for the entire duration of the exchange.
  • Submit a short essay where you talk about yourself and share your plans and reasons for studying at Prepa UDEM.
  • In case of being a minor, it will be necessary to submit proof of a legal guardian in Monterrey for the duration of the exchange.
  • Once accepted, it will be necessary to complete the registration by fulfilling the tuition payments according to the selected Academic Program you wish to be enrolled in. The costs vary according to the period of admission.

 

NOTE: These admission requirements apply only to those students who wish to study at Prepa UDEM temporarily for one year or semester through an academic exchange and do not intend to graduate from high school with our institution.

If you wish to complete your high school level education at Prepa UDEM and obtain the certificate of completion of studies from the Secretary of Education, it will be necessary to contact the admissions office directly as the admission process and admission requirements are different.

Note: if you are coming to study Spanish during the summer session, you can stay for the fall semester.
